Da big boss was Backslash.
Yet again he says he is quitting IRC for good. Yeah Yeah Yeah. Did I ever tell him he's an
Idiot. He'll be back. But as of end June 1999 he's relinquished his Channel Manger
position. And who is it going to? None other than sLag. Well, B\\ is
fun and knows a hell of a lot more than he lets on. The way he was made to slog at his old
place of work, I'm sure he'd have rather been a carpenter making cupboards. Now that he's
settled into a much more fun new job, we see so much less of him. Lives in Sharjah and hopefully now won't be
exiled to Abu Dhabi too often. He's been
working out more than we expected, so we have to give up the idea of taking up a
collection to get him a treadmill. So what could we do instead? I think this guy needs a
woman real bad. Any volunteers ?. 
Da numero duo would be Free
who lives in Dubai. Fun to talk to
if you could ever get his attention. Please don't ask him his a/s/l or you'll be promptly
reminded that there is a much better way to start a conversation. Part of the webteam, better be nice to him or you'll end up with a
"true" description of yourself on this page. As every regular knows, Free
is free, he's a pedigree, and he's as old as fools gold. Ask him to +voice
you in the channel if you're gonna play big popups cause he's got buggy flood protection
code which seems to almost kick people randomly. Not surprising cause he tried to write
all those scripts himself. Free is da
channel expert on mIRC, advanced scripting, and is an op in
the official help channel of #mIRC. Oh yes, and if you
find a backdoor into Etisalat's server at emirates.net.ae, or any other new inside
info, let him know cause Free's dying to rummage around in there again.
sLag.
What can I say. Hard to believe in just a year he's ready to take over as manager of
#Dubai. I bet he can hardly believe it himself! I wonder what he will have to say about it
in his pages sLumming with sLag. Ever read
them? They ares funny, serious, probing, and with the times. Believe me, you'll be
compelled to read every word from start to finish. Not many can hold my attention for that
long. In the beginning sLag was kind of hard to fathom out, but not any more. He's a
mowaten ( UAE national for you ignorant), and I suppose I will have to vouch for that. A
staunch anti-nuker, we hope he's going to give #Dubai's number one lamer Persian a hard
time. This guy was unfortunately brought up with a strong British influence, so that guy
next to you at the Dubai World Cup in a bowler hat and a DishDash is probably him. ROFL.
Those days of his evil laughs with lightning cackling outside seem to be behind him as he
has found himself charming more and more of the vivacious ladies that park themselves in
#Dubai. Our sTud has many a trick up his sleeve; he loves to making us guess who he is by
using all sorts of weird nicknames. Also has a talent for creating fiction. sLumming with sLag proves that adequately. Studying
at Cambridge High School, this strapping 17 year old aspiring body-builder moonlights as a
Hardware Engineer usually during the Summers. His computer knowledge and scripting
abilities grow daily along with his stature as a respected #Dubai Op.
Safire ( also masquerades as Saf^ and Safke and more recently Cake ) has become a cornerstone of the channel. People enter
and when they see she's not in, there's always a multitude of questions to the effect of
"Where's Saf?" She is full of fun if she wants to be, and she's got a soft heart
of gold. You can share your joys and your sorrows with this lovely person, and if you're
fortunate enough to become her friend, you'll be adding a treasure to your life. You'll
find her on at all odd hours, day or night. Lives in Holland, and she's expected to make
her first visit to Dubai sometime late in 1999.
Jade ! - Now this woman you watch out for. She's
recently moved to Texas and packs a punch as big as that state. Jade` is one of the
seasoned young ladies whose presence lightens up our channel. But cross her and she'll
have her IRCops friends K-line you so fast you won't know what hit you. She owns a couple
of other channels, and knows all the tricks. Sweet talk her and she'll melt in your hands ( not your mouth
perverts ). Bullshit her and you'll regret you ever met her.
The cutest young woman to grace
our channel has got to be Cuddles. She's recently upped her standard to FRaRi_GrL ( Ferrari Girl ). Guess now most of us mortals are out of
her league. You only have to say a couple of words to her about her cute new Alsatian puppy and she'll entertain you for the rest of your time on chat. Now that she's
left Dubai for Boston and joined University, we dont see enough of her. Those fun 3 months
of summer vacation in Dubai are well behind her, and I think the slogging has started. Her
stint at Dubai College now over, I
hope we don't loose her from our channel. Cuddles loves her popups, so beware a barrage of
them.
Zeba, my god. This will be one of the nicest sweetest people you'll ever meet.
Sugar and spice and all things nice. She shuttles between Dubai and London more often than
the local Royal family, but she always makes time to drop in the channel for a while and
catch up with her friends. Don't even try acting funny with her or you'll end up on her
ignore list for eternity. Talk to her very nicely in the channel and she may bless you
with her reply. Don't message her in private as she has more windows open than a human
could possibly handle.
Liquid ( used to be known as Rocco once upon a
time ) - man oh man! This chirpy young skateboarder, our youngest most regular member (
just passed 15 I think ) brings the channel to life whenever he's around. Tends goal at
ice hockey which must be where he got his brains all mushy. Canadian citizen ( don't you
dare insult him and call him British ) has a troop of friends that come in and make a
ruckus. All in fun though, as IRC chatting should always be. Hope his mum n dad see sense
and let him back on soon.
Zak. Does he need an introduction ? No. Always
beware of a Zakakakattack from this guy. He can be nice but he prefers being nasty. Women,
beware his charms. He's as subtle as a dud Nuclear explosion. Zak is one of the old timers
in #Dubai. He's almost as old as the first computer, and I heard his processor's balding
too. Oh yes, ... don't believe a word if he tells you he has Asthma. What he really means
is .......... :)
^KiLLeR^ lives on IRC. An addict if I've ever
seen one. Now days he hops in and out all the time. Hard to keep track of him.
Occasionally he visits Abu Dhabi, but spends most of his time in Lebanon. He's also trying
his hand at improving his scripting, and managing to turn out some nice popups which
everyone enjoys! Ask him for his great popups, he's ever ready to share. Here's a guy
liked by everyone in the channel, so wanna know more about him?
Dubai, now better known as |Dubai|
is one of the few mowatens on the channel. That's a UAE
national for you ignoramus. Poor guy is slogging away in Texas
A&M university the good old USA, when all he has to do is cash in his father's
shares in Etisalat and live a golden life. A great guy who all us Dubaians are dying to
meet. Late Break (Sep '98) He's back in his beloved city Dubai, and he's soooo happy to be back in
the UAE. Online mostly late at night, get a hold of him and he'll charm you out of your
wits.
MadHacker is in often but I think he's tired of
his nickname cause he finds it hard to live up to that lofty sounding name. Let's see what
new nickname he decides on. To us he's known as the Austrian Junior Hacker from Abu Dhabi.
Doesn't often say much unless you speak to him directly.
MadMouse, the
undisputed popup queen. Learnt all her tricks in #mirc_rainbow and blasts them non stop on us. We all love her dry sense
of humour though which is quite refreshing considering she's just 15 or so. She longs to
return to Vienna, but while she's in Dubai, we know she'll always be in her home channel.
moodi (aka moods) seems to fade
in and out like a used car salesman. Wonder if living in Sharjah has affected his volume
control. He used to chat a lot, but seems to have gone quiet in the channel lately.
Perhaps he just needs cheering up ! Seems like long hours in the office are keeping him
away from jet-skiing under the Garhoud Bridge. This single guy from Karachi with his own
business is ripe for plucking, having just passed through the thirty barrier. I have been
told he's house trained, so there, what more do you want !
Icelander ( aka dxb aka Iridium) must have a
presence on our page. This young man was the brains behind starting #Dubai many many full
moons ago. And he's also the brainless fool behind getting our channel purged when he took
on the #Kuwait channel. Since then he's pretty much been on the #cservice hit list, and out of courtesy to us, he
keeps his distance from #Dubai. All us old-timers miss him but, believe me, he still
hasn't learnt his lesson. He's still apt to do silly things to you just cause he feels
like it. In the good old days, this was the guy who patiently introduced me to IRC chat.
An ex-Dubai'ite who now terrorises the inhabitants of Florida, or is it California, he
intends to graduate one day.
eVers0m at sweet sixteen born and raised in this lovely city is famous in our channel for her helo0oo. Studies at Cambridge High and passed through the 10th with flying colours. The way to her innocent Iranian heart is through a box of Dark Godiva chocolates and a glass of cold milk on the back of a big Honda 750cc Touring Bike. Be nice to her and she'll paint a lovely portrait of you.

SAHALL, known to be a hunk, models for Splash,
and makes a few nice waves in #Dubai as well. Must get hold of his picture for all the
women to swoon over. He loves company, so don't be shy girls.
Brewy a Portuguese man of war, just a few days
younger than Liquid, and a good friend of his, is one of the rowdy bunch. He also goes to
Emirates Int'l School and is often mistaken there for a 6th grader. Has a steady girl, so
lay off him you cradle snatching women.
nad studies in AUD
and has to slog through the summer too this year. Poor girl is gonna have heatstroke if
she keeps that pace up. This lovely young Syrian woman zips round town in her VW Polo
partying the night away. Even at the crazy speeds she drives at she's never on time for
anything except her chat sessions on IRC. Studying Visual Communications, I am told all
she's visually interested in is young good looking guys. Actually, one in particular! A
real water-baby, she's either on her jet ski, or tanning herself in Dubai's unlimited
sunshine. Is she funny??? Is she moody??? Does she leave everything to the last minute???
I wonder!
jams has become a regularl
"pop in/pop" out #Dubai'ite. Another AUDian
student, he chats on Undernet for fun like the
rest of us. You'll find him chatting with Luv_Mstr, Saf^,
and samer and jad also when they pop in. But we all
actually know that it's only nad that he has eyes for. Been in Dubai two
years now, came here from the American College in London, but hails from Amman, Jordan. He
loves to travel, and seems to be getting his wish. Fancies himself to be a real sportsman
and says he plays tennis, softball, volleyball, and beach volleyball too. Frequents the
Tropicana at the Dubai Marine, Rattlesnake at the Metropolitan, and the new Carters next
to Planet Hollywood. He considers himself a pretty normal guy, but it appears he may be
just a bit more than that. He can be real funny, but some say that it might be a sign of
insanity. Crazy and funny, he's just our type. If he hangs around the channel more, he his
access level might rise dramatically.
Luv_Mstr is from somewhere in this region. Comes
on mostly late at night and this great guy really livens up the channel. Fun to chat with,
always ready for a conversation, and the perfect gentleman to pick up your mood when
you're feeling down. He has some very big hidden talents, which he will not reveal as yet.
You'll find him him chatting up Safke, Carisa^ and lots of the other lovely ladies who
grace this channel with their presence. He's rumored to be one of the most eligible
bachelors in the UAE.
Brat1 - her
first question in the channel is her trademark. "Anyone from St. Mary's?" Man oh
man, you should have seen her the day she finally met someone from there. An ex-Dubai-ite,
it appears she misses this place terribly.
vsnake - or ionite simply known
as Brats little brother. Forever needing help to log into to X, and is too proud to ask
his sister for help.
Blunt2 - nothing much known about him except he's
in Canada. Always around but never says more than "hi"
Cyberian ( formerly cyber_ae )
from Oslo was one of the pioneer members of channel #Dubai. Still a tender 18 he wants to
take the world by storm and thinks economics is the way. Man does he have a lot to learn.
Doesn't come on much now that he runs some chat servers of his own.
AcidGurl- a
cute young filipina ( or so she has claimed for many years on the channel now ) who spent
most of her life in Doha also ventures in as |ADIDAS| or AcidTrip sometimes. Something lately is occupying all her time and
we don't see enough of her. Want to know what kind of punk, grunge, alternative, hardcore,
gangster rap, r&B & Techno music she's into then ask her nicely and she might
share. Lucky AcidTrip has now rollerbladed her way out of Qatar back to the Philippines where,
as a single lady, she has finally got into a school that is neither too snotty or
stuck-up. Now only if she didnt have to travel 3 hours just to reach there. Hope she finds
a place closer soon ! It feels so good to have her still keeping in touch now that she's
reached back to her home country.
BOSS23 - who is he? A nice guy for sure but no
longer a mystery! A financial wizard, he's young ( 23 ), male, single, lives in Dubai,
loves to work out and swim, and get this, he races cars. Sounds like one hell of a guy.
Usually on late at night, he's friendly but needs to work on his English.
Hibo comes by now and
then, unfortunately more *then* than now. I suppose having his own branch office in Dubai
means his work is keeping him pretty busy. This guys a composer on the keyboard, makes up
Arabic techno rap ( i didn't know there was such a thing ! ). If you need help doing up
your interiors, this is the guy to ask. He started channel #AUD ( American University Dubai ) and looks like the advice given
to him was correct when he was told it isn't easy keeping a channel active. Now an
ex-AUDian, he's very family oriented and loves to boss his sisters around. He's addicted to playing to playing the latest craze of Tetrinet. which is "actually" why
we see so little of him. Good looking guy this young man. Want to know him better then go here.
ysn a regular IRC chatter just recently realised
that our channel is a happening place. Studies at Cambridge High in Dubai, he plans on
finishing his 11th this year but we all have doubts since he spends so much time chatting.
nashwan has joined us from Gaza where he
is origanlly from. Came to the UAE in on a rainy day in April 1974 (if I remember right,
there wasn't much rain in Dubai those days). Nashwan considers the UAE his 2nd homeland
and his family resides in Sharjah. Currently living in Austin, Texas, he is a darn good
looking guy, but keeps the girls well out of marrying distance. I hear he loves being
single, and he has to keep apologizing to his mom for that. He is, in his own words, very
well educated, has a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, and at this moment doing his
Masters in Structural Engineering.
He's looking for a fulltime job when he returns, so anyone out there making another new
shopping mall or skyscraper, just email him from his home page.
monny, better known as monish to his friends, is
the envy of any chatter in UAE. At sweet seventeen he has his own dedicated ISDN line. Man
oh man, what we'd give to have one of those! Spends his net time surfin and chattin up
nazneen and FRaRi_GrL while he also
upkeeps the Indian High school gossip
page. He loves making friends, and with his 24 hour access, has ample opportunity to
do so!
ZeeDubai lived in UAE his whole life but will
soon be off to university to study either aerospace engineering or electronics in the USA
or Canada ( blowing dad's hard earned money ). He's a quiet 19 year old Pakistani living
in Ras-Al-Khiamah.
DrInsanity
also calls himsef CoolWater on IRC
or CoOkiE MoNsTeR on Icq. He was one of the
original guys in #Dubai many mnay moons back and you can read all about him on his home
page.
Quanz0013 21 year
old Canadian photographer, moved out of dubai to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and is doing a
lot of promotional work now, doing more modelling type work than photography these days.
He originally moved to Dubai just over 2 years ago and had
plenty of free time to spend playing his guitar and writing
songs. An avid snowboarder, he misses the snow in the
winter months, but enjoys the lovely cool Dubai winters. After looking at his pic, you'll easily have recognized him at some of the
hot sopts in Dubai. Just mosey on up and say hi to him like Nad did when she ran into him
at Savage Garden! SandBoarding is just not the same, but
that doesn't mean he won't do it. And where does his nickname come from ??? Well, in his
own words ... "Quanz0013 is the nick given to me by my snowboardin pals back home.. (
I won that in a competition )"
Nina24 as she
is now well known in #Dubai, sometime masquerades sometimes as PrityBabe. This most interesting 24 year old lady works for a
magazine procuring advertisements from some of the big spenders in Dubai. She's been in
Dubai for just over a year now, and seems to have settled in real well. A little shy, she
needs to really know a person well before getting friendly with them. She loves to go out
dancing and listening to bands. She's made it through the hot humid Dubai summer, so let's
hope she's here to stay!
sportygal is a
fun loving 17 year old Bahraini gal who unfortunately might loose her connection to us
cause her dad finally figured out it why his phone bills suddenly became double ! This
twin sister of nonnah is totally into sports, her favourites being basketball and
volleyball. But don't rule her out as a soccer player ( Ronaldo - watch out ) , cause
she's rumored to give the boys a hard time on the field. Also plays badminton, tennis and
swims. I heard she loves to eat out, so, that proverb that the way to a man is through his
stomach may apply to this sporty vivacious young woman !
SPIRIT is either male or female, under 100 years
old, and lives somewhere in the UAE. His quick wit and constant entrances and exits in the
channel leave us wondering what he is all about. Perhaps he is just really a spirit and
has no physical being. We will soon find out.
morena is
special. It not so easy to get her into a conversation, but once you do, she's loads of
fun to be with. One of the few chatters coming in from Abu Dhabi, this lovely 23 year old
loves befriending nice people, and, if you are one of those and decide to talk to her,
behave yourself cause she's sweet and innocent. She enjoys surfing the net, and writing
poems and short stories when she's in that special mood. She loves to sing and dance, but
her favourite pastime is indulging in the arts, especially paintings. When she isn't
connected to Internet, she's burning up the phone lines talking to friends. A real
phonaholic if you ask me.

calls herself myastayas once in a while, is another AUD brat, though she's kinda small for an
AUDian. She manages to always choose a computer from the AUD computer lab that has the DMSETUP.exe virus or a variant of that virus. This peppy little 18 year old is definitely
looking for her prince charming, so all those eligible and potential knights please climb
out of your little holes and apply your charm both discreetly and with finesse. OK, so we
all know she talks way too much, but that's only when her mouth isn't full of chocolates.
Definitely the life of channel #Dubai, things are never "normal" when she's
around. Did she ever start telling you about calligraphy? You'd better have the whole
afternoon free if she gets started!
vaGaBoNd like many IRC chatters, he doesn't feel
so comfortable revealing his name. This 17 year old strapping young bull is half Pakistani
and half British, a thorough mongrel if you ever saw one. Famous in #Dubai for his
scathing and fiendish popups, he charms the ladies with his prose and poetry. Young as he
may be, he appears to have had his share of heartbreaks. Or maybe he has been the cause of
many? He used to live in Scotland, but is now firmly set in Dubai. In vaGaBoNd's own words
..... you never forget your first love .... and in my words ..... so make your first love
IRC. heh heh ! Could he be an ex-St. Mary's
kinda guy?
eshi, all of sweet 16 was born and brought up in Dubai. She
studies at the Indian High School which eshi feels is a horrible place to study in, or in
her own words - "it sucks!". She loves to swim, play basketball, and of
course to party out and have a ball with her friends. Basically a fun loving person, she's
always smiling and likes to make others smile too. She enjoys making friends on IRC chat
and of course coming to #Dubai. Give her a chance and she'll make you laugh, bug her and
she'll challenge you to a game of billiards.
eazyrider has now pretty much parked himself in
#Dubai. Which is about time since he's been playing trivia in IRC chat for over a year.
Somehow everyone feels safe when he's around, don't know why though, just something
reassuring about him. For a long time his answer to the question *are you male or female*
was, *wait lemme check:)* Guess what he found out his woman wasn't the man of the family.
He's self employed, works in Dubai, and has lots of hobbies. Almost to many to mention,
some of them are Golf, Cricket, Squash, Tennis of course, reading, watching movies, trivia
, trivia, trivia, and last but not least Bird-Watching (what kind of birds he's talking
about you decide for yourself). He graduated in Business Management, and ladies, he IS
married. A friendly guy, he'll keep you entertained all afternoon. Just don't let him

XTLC is a recent addition to the channel, and
hails from Germany. At 26, with Swedish roots, and knowing that he used to once be a
professional swimmer, the ladies are flocking to see his picture.
He's involved in the online banking business and is looking for a local UAE agent for his day-trading project. He had one of his best
ever vacations in Dubai, so expect to see him back here again soon!
Orouba. There is a lot of confusion over
this Bahraini
guy, this deep concept of thought referred to as Orouba and the BigO or O! So let's clear
it up, once and for all. Let's make it as simple and as direct as possible: When he
abandons all his self deception and self torture; all of his self-centered thought and
pretenses and stories, none of which are really useful or true; that is, strips memory,
fantasy, all past and future seduction, broken romances, worry, frustration, and tragedy,
and who is left? We have the O I know.... If you are truly interested in knowing, beyond
even the slightest doubt, a person that has no conditions or limits, if you are truly
interested in knowing a freedom that has absolutely no boundaries at all, if you are truly
interested in coming to the end of all friendship seeking, then please consider, very

mxpx who I've never had the pleasure of meeting
is a student who shuttles between Toronto and Dubai. I have heard that this amazing young
16 year old was a straight A student, but now he has to face up to the much higher
standards of Dubai Schools. He's one of the most mature and well mannered young men to
have graced our channel. Although he loves Dubai, his heart is still in San Francisco (
oooops - I mean Toronto ) where he left behind all his soul mates. I suppose he hasn't had
time yet to explore all the charms of our wonderful city! Now listen, this non stop
chatterbox can type real fast! I just wonder if he can drive that fast in an Indy race!
Perhaps we will see him at Formula 1 on the Abu-Dhabi road soon :)
Carisa^ is a lovely new addition to our humble abode. This charming lady
now lives in Nebraska, a place some
might have heard of, but then, never really knew where it was. Actually you just take a
map of mainland USA and fold it in half both ways. It usually rests where the two creases
intersect. If you haven't yet had the pleasure of her company, you haven't experienced IRC
chat to it's fullest. Carisa will charm you with her ..... *smiles* .... and ......
*sighs* ... and all these unbelievably long sentences .... she'll always be funny and
polite .... and hold you spellbound with her insights and probing questions. Make sure you
never miss a chance to get her attention :)
Va|kyria passed the big legal hurdle when she hit 18 recently. She lives in a town
called Sandnes in Norway and is studying Economics and Marketing. She reached #Dubai
courtesy of sLag's charm, and we are grateful to him for bringing such a lovely creature
into our midst. This aspiring flautist puts her talent to good use, writing songs and
ballads when inspired. A chat with her always leaves you in great spirits. Perhaps that's
because she's such a nice person!
Markus_ in Germany is into making Electronic
circuits that cost us thousands when out cars go in for frequent repairs. He's looking to
set up something in Dubai, but wants no partners after getting his hands burnt in the Gulf
a couple of times. We just might see him in JAFZ soon.
Toony an 18 year old Belgian IRC addict who lives
in Abu Dhabi has been on channel #Dubai from way way back. Only comes in occasionaly now
that he's busy studying. He's the right guy to ask if you need help on the X and W bots in
undernet as he's an op under training in the undernet's
official help channel #cservice. Also pally
with the IRCops, be nice to him and he'll alawys be willing to help you out with a
troublesome chatter who's bothering you.
Disco_Doc made a very important discovery lately.
He found out that the real life on IRC Chat is on Undernet and not Da
Lamer's Net
( AKA Dalnet ), but for all his friends on Dalnet, don't fret, he's a compassionate guy
and will never betray you. Another AUD clown, Disco_Doc has really
livened up #Dubai since his appearance. Studying for his BBA, majoring in computer system
management, this young man has been in Dubai a whopping 16 years. He lives on the Net, is
working hard at improving his programming skills, has perfected his chatting technique,
and apart from generally fooling around he considers himself a snooker/pool shark and a

Sunny smile" Cambridge High School. At sweet sixteen, this young lass has spent all
her teen years and more in lovely Dubai. Typical of students in Cambridge high, she says,

Then of course there is Caesar. He's another one
from the little country of Holland. Actually lives in the same town as Safke does, and has
many a trick up his sleeve. Think the name Caesar will give you a big
hunk of a guy??? Think again :)) Spell his name wrong and you will be told *Duhhh... It's
C-A-E-S-A-R!!! :)) So, *nick*, try to remember next time... ok? :))* He also has his own
channel in Holland and puts a lot of hard work into it. Likes to come to #Dubai at all odd
times, just like a lot of us, then just sits there until he pulls some trick or other.
Need help, he is always willing to give it, just like so many of the people in our
channel. Also does a lot of scripting and if you try to nuke him, be prepared to get more
then your share back from him.
JAVED
is a newbie to our channel. ^^S^^'s good friend, he's an 18 year old Pakistani who lives
in Kuwait. Studying in Sharjah, as he put it, for higher studies., acha. His own
description of himself is *cute* and his favourite hobby is going after the girls. So,....

Some of his other hobbies are cricket, cricket, cricket and also a bit of football. He
also hangs out at some other channels, which of course we cant mention for reason well
known to us. One of his favorite people to talk to in #Dubai is Carisa^, and, as he puts
it, she's my best friend, which of course means the the cute girls in the channel have
competition ;))
Another new regular is DXBman (AKA Houhi) who's
in his late twenties. A Lebanese graduate from the American University in Beirut, his
major was in Geology and he's completed all his courses for his MBA ( do I smell OIL money
in this somewhere ?). Right now he's working on his thesis in Dubai while he's holding a
position as a management trainee. His hobbies: chatting, chatting and chatting with the
lovely ladies in our channel. A nice addition to our motley crew, we hope he'll stay with
us for a while.
Hayati has been gracing us with his presence over
4 months now. Was born in Lebanon and is multi cultural. Studies Computer Science and
loves to read and play sports .His friends call him the United Nations, and attends French
School at the American University. A witty guy with a bottomless reservoir of trivia, he
always manages to make us laugh with some of his very dry comments. Welcome to #Dubai

Muskaan is a
pretty new face in #Dubai. Bubbly and just 14, she appears to be giving via a run for her
money. She lives in Ras-Al Khamia and attends the Indian Public School there. Her hobbies
are way too many to mention, but let's give it a try anyhow. Get a look at this list:
swimming, dancing, music, movies, painting, and indoor and outdoor games. Need I mention
this is a very busy young lady.
^^S^^, from what I've heard, is this young
businessman who's joined us in #Dubai. He's living in Karachi, at this moment and is
studying computers. Heard also that he loves pets, IRC-chatting and business. All of 18
years, he loves to tease our chatters. Ladies, if you'd like to see what this guy looks
like then I would say have a peek here.
JAM007 is from Sharjah. He gets extremely bugged
when he gets kicked for playing large popups. Heard that everyone up there .... put him on
your users lists please. Still, getting kicked is something everyone gets used to,
especially when they have this nasty habit of swearing to you in private chats. I hope
that bad etiquette will cease soon. JAM007 comes to us from a university
in Dubai where he's studying Computer Engineering. Which University you ask? Well, he's
not telling yet! He is a whopping 19 years old, and loves the girls. Hope they'll love him
right back! His philosophy in life: *life is too short and I have to enjoy it* - and two
of the most important things to him are Love and Friendship. He swims, scuba dives and
terrorises us on the roads with his driving.
Papi comes
to us way over from from Canada. She the proud owner of her own Internet cafe which has
been running for 2 years now. She loves anything to do with computers, except maybe
anything technical. She says she comes to us to improve her English, but it appears she's
doing fine in that department. Papi loves dogs, has 2 of her own, and furthermore takes
them in, trains them, and when they are old enough and ready, she sends them to the
Society of the Blind as seeing eye dogs. She finds it hard to say goodbye to them ..but in
her own words, "it's all for a good cause" ;)) Great going Papi!
CASPER20 professes to be a diehard romantic,
still up for grabs. He loves rainy days, makes him feel romantic. (Saf^ totally disagrees
with you there CASPER20, she'd rather see candles and listen to soft
music). He not only loves IRC but also PIZZA, he would almost kill for it as he put it.
What a combination! CASPER20 thinks that one day he will be part of the
the furniture in #Dubai, just like the rest of us. Has a way with words when dealing with
the ladies, or so I've been told.
Gem is one of
the sweetest girls I ever met, her name suits her purrrrfectly. She graces our channel
with her lovely personality. She is a graduate of BS Accountancy and calls herself lucky
to be one of only 12% who passed her countries CPA board exam. (Way to go Gem!). Gem is a stamp-collector and
enjoys reading very much. She lives in Dubai, and is originally from the Philippines.
She's is a quiet girl, but once you get her Friendship, it will be for life!
SoHnI, lovely,
beautiful, 17 years old, living in Dubai. Currently taking her A levels. She loves to
sketch, chat on IRC, learn new stuff about computers and is currently trying to learn
advanced HTML. One of her favorite pastimes is applying Henna. Heard she has a WebPage on
it, but perhaps she'll share it with us another time. SoHnI loves to be interviewed on IRC, she said it makes her feel
important :)) I'm sure SoHnI will agree that with the channel we have created, everyone is important
around here ;))
gurl25 as you may not have guessed is a 25 year old lady introduced to IRC chat and #Dubai by our ever faithful Nina24, who also happens to be her best friend. Working in marketing consultancy, gurl25 moved to Dubai from Manila. She may seem a bit shy at first, but once you get her to open up, you'll find that she is looking to make a few more nice friends. A real party goer, you just might run into her at any of Dubai's hotspots.
And get this. Gurly married Softman in mid
2000! A total IRC romance. She's moved to Denmark, and rarely comes onto #Dubai anymore.
rizscorp is a recent addition into #Dubai. Hails
from Hydrebad in India, he'll be visiting Sunny Dubai early Nov '98. This outgoing guy
says he likes to meet people. Imagine an outgoing guy who didn't like to meet new people .
LOL. Anyway ....... rizscorp has a specialty field he wasn't to continue
working in. Web marketing, and I immediately asked him what that meant. Here goes: Selling
services of web solutions, like designing, domain name registration ,server space, and
....... into marketing of interactive CD roms, business presentations, ........ anything
to do with the WWW and internet. And as he quaintly put it ...... everybody will be
selling services of websites, but finally who bags the order is one who is creative, and
with a proper approach.
Colonel who sometimes moonlights as Tartanian
works as a Marketing Executive for a multi-national company in Manila. He plays Football
in his region as Goalkeeper. He's a real cheerful and easy to get along with kinda person,
whom Nina will attest to. He loves dancing, bar hopping and live bands.
chocodip another sweetheart from AUD was on internet way before many of us. Almost
3 years. But it took her ages to find the #Dubai chat room in Undernet. Her horizons have
sure expanded since then. This sprightly young lass is into swimming, admiring nature,
painting, talking, going out, reading, .... what more do you want! Been in Dubai since she
was born all of 18 years ago, she pretty much knows this place inside out, or so via tells
me.
Badmanz deserves a mention only in that he still
is allowed to remain in #Dubai inspite of all the mischeif he gets upt to. Wanna know more
about him? Ask him, but don't say I didn't warn you.
Fighter_ normally resides on his regular channels
of #algerie #Dubai and #lebanon. He's a 24 year old egyptian software enigneer who has
graduated now to being a network engineer. He's a Microsoft Certified Professional and is
working towards attaining the level of a Microsoft Certified System Engineer. Powerful
sounding stuff! New in Dubai having arrived in the later half of '98, he's into music ,
reading, movies, chatting , travelling , and was once upon a time a basketball player, but
looks like he didnt grow tall enough :)
Softman poor guy has fallen in luv with Dubai so badly he's finally decided to come here even if it's in the height of summer this year! Quite a move for a guy who was born, raised, and lived in one country all his life.This blond hair blue eyed 24 year old baby is one hell of a Danish pastry, or so a little birdie told me. Studies computer engineering. Dedicated party animal. I heard his room is as messy as his Hard Drive. Now that IS MESSY! But his charm makes up for it. Likes to rub into us in UAE that his internet connection is free. Perhaps someone in Dubai would like to trade places with him?
And as a climax - Softman married gurly25 in mid 2000. A total #Dubai romance!
Karoliina, who is this mysterious woman with two i's in her name. And where the hell is Estonia? Wonder how many #Dubai regulars heard of that place before Karoliina gave us directions. What was it? West from Dubai, take a right at Cairo, hmmm ... i'm lost again, did you say Baltic?. You can see her house here. This young woman is spending time in #Dubai as preparation for her trip here later this year, using her time with us to learn more about what happens in this fine city. Also an op on #london and of course #estonia, her cheerfulness and constant sparring with Orouba keep us all enthralled. BTW, don't ask her her shoe size, it won't be easy to see if the glass slipper fits her.
And now some years later, in May 2001, Karoliina still occasionally graces us with her wit and no nonsense - catch me if you can - outlook to life. Unraveling mysteries for the linguistically impaired - she hops around Europe - sweeping life along with her.
So how was her sojourn to Dubai? As a single woman coming to visit - the open stares and unpleasant behaviour of men - and this was in the better areas of town - were what stayed the most with her. As a tourist, she expected to be able to explore Dubai's many attractions without being treated as an object of lust, and as she aptly puts it - <Karoliina> it's just that i felt defensive all the time, and i hate places where i cannot just do my own thing without having bunch of idiots gaping at me all the time.
Fortunately there were other impressions
she took back with her ..... "i had a lovely sunset trip across the Creek from the
spice souks" ..... went for a desert drive, wadi bashing and all ...... "and it
was hot !!!" ...... "went to see a play..and that was lovely too" .....
"took sneaky pictures of Arab women while pretending to take a photo of a stuffed
camel or something ....... lol ..... but that was fun there .... and i would like to
come back someday :) - ....... So there we have it ...... #Dubai's very own Karoliina.
BaldiLox aka BaldiLocks first appeared to us as Chairman2 aka ChairmanOfTheBald ( when exchanging ASL's with lamers on DalNet and EFNet) aka ChairmanOfTheBored aka VerBALDIarrhoea. The Right DisHonorable newcomer to #Dubai first seen in mid Feb '99 is best introduced as the second cousin, first removed, of Her Ladyship Lady Goldilocks. He has varying moods fluctuating subtly between his usually dour sarcastic diatribes to his now well known cheerful verbal diarrhea, which culminates with his standard "Greetings, one and all and sundry". With more than just a receded hairline, this king of the toupée tries his best to put off the ladies from their charming advances. Hopefully, and mercifully for his sake, he'll realise he won't have to try too hard. A McApple die hard, the old timer in Dubai has recently been peeking in other people's Windows, trying to get the pulse of IRC life. So, do we hate him? Of course not. We love him as much as we love his soul mate Orouba.
And now 2 years later in May 2001 his signature entry of <BaldiLox> Salam
3alaikom. Table for one please, non smoking - reminds us that he alone could keep
Phillip Morris in business. Chain smoking his way as he constantly mutters - the darn ADSL
connection - why do I have to live with this ISP- can't you do anything about it - he
sulks in his spiderwebs of #Baldi's_Precision_Circumcision , #BaldiLox's_Casting_Couch
, & #BaldiLox's_Castration_Station - a combination that reveals the inner
workings of his mind and the childhood influences that have shaped him. Do we still love
him? Of course - how could one feel anything but compassion for such a lovable Baldi.
Marlboro4, now a fixture in #Dubai, has been around for about 6
months, and it's high time he was added here. From Indian descent, living in Abu Dhabi for
a few years now, he's 23, single and as the ladies who he's charmed will verify, very good
looking. The single gurlies in #Dubai seem to be having a riot with him. Working in the
desert and studying at the same time makes his life very busy.
It's also a reason we don't see him on #Dubai every day. He's off sand skiing with the
camels! Fun to be around, but also takes life very seriously. So, what do you make of him?
Muse. From where did this mysterious woman
arise. Suddenly appearing, galvanizing #Dubai into an arena of male rivalry. What scent
has she spread, spurring the red blooded to fawn for her attention. Her prose and poetic
views enthralling, graceful, captivating. Does such a vision really exist in Dubai? Will
her free flying spirit be subdued?
The-Saint lived most of his life in
Dubai and is now studying in the American University of Karachi, and will be back in Dubai
in December '99. This young 25 year old likes to keep private, and is quite conservatively
selective about the woman he will chat with. He seems to like secretive things like the
nicks OO7 and TheSaint. Professes to have an assertive personality, but seems like a nice
mild guy. Says he "doesn't believe in being good or best , he believes in being
better, learning is a journey that never ends, it's not a destination. He likes knowing
everything about everything! He Swims, plays cricket (bats well and spin bowls), and loves
chatting. Don;t we all :)
Rima - Rima Rima Rima - she can be
so charming - for a few seconds, then she'll tear you up mercilessly. Really a mystery -
what holds her interest - what triggers a tirade - figure it out and you may have solved
the mystery of what makes a woman a woman. Still, under that facade of bravado and curt
comebacks is a soft wonderful person waiting to emerge.
Xarien, like Va|kyria, is
from Sandnes in Norway. He always tries to be helpful, with mIRC & other computer
related stuff. He thinks he's nice, and so do we. He says he's honest, but then, who is!
Xarien is an ageless (i.e. no longer a teenager) computer technician who is always on the
lookout for a better paid job. His hobbies, in probably this order of importance to him,
are .... friends.. music.. computers... beach volley ball... movies... Science...
cartoons... and reading. (!) You'll often find him tinkering around in #australia #Sandnes
and #vigilantes.
hayat - my God, talk about an IRC addict! Living in Montreal, this lovely Canadian born Egyptian livens up our every day without fail. Graduated in Political Science & Psychology, she now applies her hard earned knowledge to "Accounting". YUCK. She's interested in Middle East politics and as she says, "I love watching and analyzing people which is why I like chatting." Watch her wave her sleepy good-byes and quit, only to return a few later. Like we said, talk about an addict!

Laurence - a witty young man, comes to IRC to meet different people
and help anyone if he can. His main hobby is, guess what! "Computing." And get
this, he's also into a lot of theoretical Physics as a hobby. Also likes philosophy and
psychology, which he only reads when he's bored. He loves Cricket, Table Tennis, swimming,
and is also into diving. He's been trying to set a new record on holding his breath, but
can't stop talking long enough to get any success ;)) Now be careful with that Laurence..

and now in College.. after finishing his 2 years of A'levels, he's hoping to go to

male22dxb can finally be considered a regular of #Dubai. This 22 years old lives in Dubai and is, in his own words, "still looking for a hobby." He says he loves to drive, and is an industrial Engineer. He graduated from Birla Inst. of Technology in India and is a Proud Nationalist Indian. Fun guy to chat with and a real nice addition to our channel :))
And now more than two years later, male22dxb has grown into the enviable Dr_Lust. Was it a pre-ordained transformation? Dr_Lust would use the line "who says nothing is impossible .... i do it all the time" till he recently took over his dad's business and got his driving license. Now this 24 year old is in love with the Traffic Police, and his car loved by his insurance agents. The back seat of his auto-mobile is always impeccably clean for consultations of the sort his name vividly suggests. Fun guy to talk to and quite a "listener" if you have a problem he can solve. :)
Dr_Lust - Ain't no sunshine when he's gone. Ain't no
sunshine when he's here. Basically, if Dr_Lust was listed on a Stork exchange -
he'd be instantly De_Lusted.
PCgirl - been almost 3 years now, and
finally we get to write about her. This lovely lass has lived her entire life in
the Emirates. All 17 gorgeous years of her. Now, what's it that turns her on most? Here
it is in her own words -- shoppppppppppppppppppppping till i drop!!!!!!!!!! -- LOL.
She plays basketball, and some pool. Our kinda Gal! She loves mornings by the beach, so
swimming is definitely in. Writes poetry in English, and she is GOOD! Her tastes in music - house music
and rap..... but sometimes she's into trance and techno! Loves partying
and joking, and she loves her BIG sister.
Sorrow a.k.a. Astral lives in the UK with no known
a/s/l. Or at least no publicly listed one. A certified MCP and computer techie, the
nickname Sorrow is explained away as "To tell you the truth....I have no idea why
I've got the nick Sorrow; maybe
its Coz I'm crazy or maybe its because I'm mad... hehehe. I guess it's just a forgotten
and perhaps a misunderstood word !" So, - Sorrow loves Arabic musix (Diana Haddad
being #1), is very much into computer art work, and is always full of suggestions on how
to improve #Dubai and the dubaichat web pages. Now if only help was being offered instead

Barbie_Doll - now who wouldn't die to have her in their
private message window? This Baskin Robbins coconut lovin, non-smokin, easy goin gal is
gonna be a web designer one day. No sneak previews yet of her work though.
A great learner, she will respect you for teaching her new things in life, especially
computer, web and IRC related! She was introduced to IRChatting at a friends house and
found herself on #Dubai. No wonder she has been hooked ever since!
Barbie_Doll is just as comfortable at home as out with friends. So, what does she enjoy
doing most at home? Reading, music, chatting, and painting. she loves to draw anything,
especially using modern art techniques. Her favourite groups? This ain't a POP girl. She

May 2001 saw Barbie getting hold of some colorful popup
scripts! Whoever gave them to her didn't realize what they were unleashing into the
channel. She now announces her arrival, stay and departure with myriad paintings of
multicolour images and greetings. #Dubai looks very much like the days back in 1998/9 when
some of those nicks above were still around. Full of life and colour, and Barbie Dolls.
Consumer electronics is his game, and IceManX is his name. New in
#Dubai, new in Dubai (Jan 2001), but not new to chatting - he's been at it since IRC
started . An OPs in #india and orginially from the land of Bollywood, this 20something
ladies man loves to party - and partying means the sky is the limit. Most at home in the

Fishing his passions unsurpassed. Silent and reserved - until that is - you get him to

Fling - a mystery in #Dubai - appears - spars
lightheartedly with those who properly engage her - smiles impishly - and is gone like a
lovely and fresh breeze. In the channel most every day for a while, with a cheerful entry

insites - the youngster who thinks life is driving a car round and

NY-152 in pretty
much his own words (January2001) - I am nothing special; of this I am sure. I am a common
man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to
me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul,

.. this guy is positive alright :)
We finally get down to AntiProxy - aka - Damuttz - aka - Z3L3R0n - aka a whole bunch of others nicknames he takes on depending on his mood. We know him best as LM and that's what we like to call him. LM for the past many months (starting end 2000) has been totally taken by #Dubai - living, breathing, eating, and more often than not sleeping it. #Dubai consequently, has taken on a different life form because of him. Better organized, better protected, always watched and carefully tended.
What appears to be a quiet sentinel guarding the realm is actually a vigilant and
vibrant Network Engineer who lives computers and dabbles in life. He revels in
"constructing and connecting networks," - his job and passion. Beyond the world
of Boy Toys and Bots, there emerges a strong presence of some one wonderfully humane. A
sensitive, soul-seeking young man - he has his "networking" and connections
"routed" through most of the regulars in the channel. Described as a
"Dreamboat" - and "Drop Dead Gorgeous" - the entire female population
between 8 & 80 find him exceedingly attractive. Unix buff, he tweaks everything
(including the dames) to get the most out of it. His personal ADSL line is probably the
most heaviest used in the UAE. He keeps up with his three passions of Cars, Computers n
Chicks in spite of being logged in on permanently. He lives between Insomnia and the
Internet and would lay down his dual 1GHz processors (life) to protect and help any real
friend of his in need. Waiting patiently for his Ms. Right - who will have a degree
in Understanding - is another feature- but with a slight difference. He has no
preconceptions and prejudices - open minded and warm, this car loving, computer hacking
genius is a self made man with a generous nature and a helping hand.

Just thought of putting down a few words about myself as well, but since i am not
considered a regular as of date, i guess i will just wait till i qualify. Just to let you
all know, i have been on IRC for a couple of years particularly the Dubai channel, but
maintained a very low profile. Cheers for now.
danya - Chipper and chirpy and a bashful romantic. The
young lady from Brunei oozes with Oriental hospitality! We find her online from her work
place where she jumbles numbers punching her calculator. At night, she presses our buttons
and jumbles us up into knots. A real numbers woman, she aspires to run her own
accountance firm one day. Pleasant to talk to, and yes a sense of humour in the offing as
well! Is she stuck in a country that doesn't suit her life style? Perhaps we can entice
her to move to Dubai, since she's already made #Dubai her home! Hey danya .... we have

Big^Moe - who once upon a time long long ago went by the name of
FunnyGuy and used Microsoft Chat, is today sitting pretty at the Top of #Dubai with his
@OP badge shining for everyone to see. What's the first thing on Big^Moe's mind when he
enters the channel? Does he scroll down the nickname list looking for that name starting
with L.! Well, this guy is fun to chat with and a
great sense of humor, sweet as sugar drops and a charmer beyond comparison. Yes jaffsy, take a back seat please. Feeling dull and low?
He'll soon have you up and hyper! So so so - what makes this Don Juan tick? Perhaps it's
his - every afternoon - without fail - obsession with the gym! Vouched for by the ladies -
his "great" body is his pride and joy. He crazily maintains the flatness of his
stomach, and it appears to pay off. Girls revolve around him 24/7 like bees around nectar,
and believe me, he blows their minds with his charms and looks. He is honest, caring, and
helpful, and add to this the fact that he is intelligent and does well in his studies -
then what is there in his life that could be lacking? Well, poor Big^Moe ain't got a
license or wheels yet! Awwwwwwwwwww ..... don't worry Big^Moe - the girls are all happy to
give you a wild ride :)
MissChif - a l'il lady with a contrived
curt attitude - who defines men by how cute their butts are. There she is,
eating donuts in her Tweety Bird T-shirts, sitting on her computer, luvin to
hate IRC, just like she loves to pretend to hate anything and everyone that
smiles at her. Lots of big hard words, in such a petite l'il body. The kinda
young lass who'll use a Pajero to mow down any male on the corniche that dares glance her way -
that is - if she can spy 'em over the steering wheel! We all know what a dahlin she
is, no matter how hard she tries to fool us. Then again, make a pass and she'll
yell Mummyyyyyy. Fallin in love is a "timepass," but doesn't one have
to grow up to have that perfect guy find her and whisk her away in matrimonial
bliss? .... know what we mean ? ...... OHT ..... right ??? .... LOL !
hehaheh burst into #Dubai back in April 2001. Known for his ability to
find his way around rules, he's the kind of person who grows on you, rubbing
your nerves raw as he wiggles his way in. Phrases that describe him ?
Temperamental ; Won't take shit (from a woman) ; If you're a stranger, you can
go to hell ; A total sexist (yet a gentleman) ; Superbly stubborn (especially
about stuff he knows something about) ; Very ambitious (has this weird
drive in him which at times is scary) ; Wants to be the best (in anything he
does) ; thinks he's Beethoven (only thing is Beethoven was deaf, not tone deaf.)
; Terrible pick up lines (so wot do u think about premarital sex) - more like a
"I need a sensible woman desperately" sign ; A Jack of all trades ;
Thinks he's mastered sex and booze (equates them to javascript); Very
professional at racing a bike off a cliff (and at passing his Driving Test) ;
Thinks he can play soccer (with a bum leg); Basically a Royal pain in the butt.
Still, we all love him. Don't we? Why? Cause he's a stand up friend. Will never
let you down if he's decided to stand by you :) And for the women - take <MissChif>
at her word: ... hehaheh's got the sexiest butt in the world!
Tunasmell .... if any of you've wondered where that
pungent aroma originated, its origins coincide with the end of OvuLation. The lady from
Indonesia, as casual as she may seem, sports an abundance of grey matter - saved
for rainy days .... including discourses on politics ... economics ... or even
general bovines scalthology... she definitely can add a word or two hundred. Never did she hear of
Dubai till her friend found a job in this sunny town. Now she's sure enjoying her discovery.
You'll catch her any day on #Dubai ... eeerr ... during her office hours
that is!
Seductress - has the men lapping her up - she
enters the channel with that "Come get me if you can" aura about her.
And go for her they do! And she loves it! Still, somehow she manages to charm
and mesmerize the male species without allowing them to touch, and doesn't end
up alienating her competition . So so so - the men ask ... is she a babe ? MOST
DEFINITELY ..... tall ..... leggy .... long wavy hair ..... huge lovely eyes
.... lovely smile ..... great sense of humour .. loves to laugh .....mmmmmm
...... a looker ..... a charmer ....... and a seducer. So what brings her to
#Dubai ? The men of course ! So where's she headed? Knowing her drive ... right
where she wants to be .... into the performing arts ... into writing ..... and
if she flips enough burgers in Vancouver, into earning herself a degree in
cinematography. Watch out Speilberg! Her biggest challenge at present though is
deciding what to have for lunch, and how to tease Si||y. The nights - for her -
are quiet. She'd love to burn em up dancing, but, though the dancing is
definitely in her, the partying ain't (besides, the shoes are all wrong!). The
way to her heart? Through her sweet tooth of course. Godiva your way in! Is
there a dark side to this temptress? Perhaps the normal mood swings, a little
touchy sometimes, no patience for lamers ..... but then ..... doesn't that
describe every woman? Yeah ! But she's no "normal" woman :)
