Actually the Web pages have a specific purpose.
They are a gift,...to you!

Ever gone some place to eat supper, a friends house or a restaurant, and the food was great!

When ? ... When did the DubaiChat WebPages Pop Up ?
Why ? ..... Why in Heaven's name did you call it "DubaiChat WebPages" ?
How ? ..... Well we know that isn't a "double-you" but
                 it still gets answered in here.

If you thought that trekking down this wee path here, you were going to be enlightened with the answers to the above questions, which now, just as I planned, plague your minds to the brink of insanity, don't worry. I'd feel betrayed too if I were you. But let us not dabble in the most uninviting topic of "treachery." Rather come one step closer to being guided in the right direction which, if I don't dupe you again, should reveal the answers to the above five and a half yet sacred 'W's ( Pronounced " double-you's " )

A long time ago, in a land sparsely vegetated but abundant in sand and technology lay one lone figure in his rickety chair. He shifted uncomfortable in his seat whilst the arthritis kicked in, yet, relentlessly continued his IRC session. This man knew no bounds, nothing could keep him from typing in his usual 'speedy' style, NO message would be left unanswered, no query box left unopened.

That was when, as he gazed at the monitor, he no longer saw the familiar screen of mIRC. No longer did those words mean anything to him. Neither did the nicks nor the multitude of ping requests that were pouring down on him. Instead, what he saw was a vision of utter loveliness, such grace that which left him speechless. As the salivary glands in his mouth began to quicken their production of liquid, he closed his eyes allowing for the drops to seep out from his lips and onto his keyboard.

Upon opening his eyes again, he saw but one word etched on the monitor where only a few moments ago, was the familiar realm of the Undernet... "Dubaichat".

Looking around in panic, Old Man Free could see only that very same word... "Dubaichat"... He looked at his window.. "Dubaichat", he looked at his desk... "Dubaichat", he looked at his shirt... "Dubaichat", he looked at the make of his underwear... "Dubaichat".

What evil had possessed Free during that hot afternoon at his desk? Whatever it was, it soon lead to the creation of the "Dubaichat" WebPages. You may now breathe out.

Was Dubaichat really formed that way ? Of course not. LOL. Free had to work hard for it. VERY HARD. With WebPages such as these, before you start, you have to know you are going to be in it for the long haul. It will become a life-long commitment. It will become part of you whether you like it or not. That is what I believe makes the Dubaichat pages so special.

That it has within it, cleverly hidden, a bit of every user in #Dubai. Hard to believe ? Take a look around again as I'm sure you will soon begin to notice the delightful presence of via, the odd nature of sLag, the flirtatious qualities of Mister^, the disgusting yet charming aroma of Baldilox and the stench of Badmanz, but none so much as the webmaster ... (rumour has it one can smell his arthritis medication, mail me if you can, I have money riding on this one!) ... Old Man Free himself.

Free has gone ahead and spent a handful of money to make this possible by purchasing an entire domain. WOW. Yes. WOW. But Dubaichat was alive long before the domain was purchased. Dubaichat used to reside at the Geocities Servers (I hated it there) and well, it wasn't doing very well. With Dubaichat's relocation to much.net, almost everyone agrees, it's much more at home here. One could safely say it's even thriving.

I could relate this to that age old expression but I'm sure some would agree to it being a cliché ... "Like a fish out of water". Well, I'm happy to say that this "FISH" is back IN the water.

As the years have gone by, Dubaichat has changed in every way possible, from size, all the way down to content. Its has gone so far as to extend itself beyond just the usual Channel Happenings, though that is the primary subject on Dubaichat. So, if it is anything regarding the channel you are looking for, you will find it at Dubaichat. Free has taken all the necessary measures to providing you with an updated list of users, Channel Operators, WebSites, odd and interesting happenings, etc. EVEN technical details. How much more content have you ever seen in any other IRC Undernet channel homepage ? Still famished ?

LIAR ! LOL ! I doubt it would take 48 hours straight to gobble up all that Dubaichat has up to offer, and even then, you will still have more when you consider the frequency of updates at Dubaichat.

The point I am trying to make is that Dubaichat is everlasting and will continue to grow so long as there is a #Dubai on the undernet. And as the channel grows, so does the Dubaichat WebPages, bigger and bigger and better.

Dubaichat, as you should have noticed, has undergone numerous changes in design and appearance. All these changes are targeted at YOU, the users and making your stay at Dubaichat WebPages a pleasant one, to your mind as well as your eyes. I suggest when you first arrive, don't think of leaving anytime soon, there is always more where Dubaichat came from. :)

Why the Dubaichat pages exist???

Hmmmm... A lot has been written... by both Slag and someone else.
So what can I add to it ??? I don't really know;)). But I will try...

I have been in #Dubai for a little over 2 years now,
before it even got registered in November of 1997..
and I have seen it grow...
From Free, BackSlash, Icelander and me being the only ones in the beginning...
to the great channel it is now:)).

I have seen chatters come and go..
but even if they have not been here for a while..
they always seem to return ;))

I think its mostly our Free who draws people back...
He is a special kind of person...who is there when you need him :))
And looking at all the other pages,
trying to even comprehend at how much time has gone into writing them,
it should give you some idea as to why people are returning.

There is a warmth in this channel..
always people here what are willing
to help the people who are having problems with their lives.

Since this is very much an International channel
we would prefer the English language...
so EVERYONE can understand what's being said in the Channel :))

Anyhow.....
If you really want to know why the pages are all there,
and what the people in here are like...
I would suggest GO and Read all the pages...
and see what makes #Dubai tick!!!!
