| The Abu
Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry has very kindly linked our
site in its new UAE Web Sites
Directory, and sent us SPAM
trying to promote it. It seems to be becoming a trend now for government bodies in the UAE to spam users. |
EIM itself being party to SPAM, and of
course the Dubai Police. Check out our records of Spammers in the UAE in our special page dedicated to them. |
| ADCCI further boast that the number of
visitors to the site "reached to 10,000 visitors in one day, which as anyone
who runs web sites in this region knows, is a blatant distortion. This also raises the point of accountability for spurious claims of visitors to web sites being run here in the UAE. |
For example the Dubai Shopping Festival's claims that over 50,000
visitors were hitting their site last year was known by all to be just a marketing
gimmick. It was never substantiated, as it never could be. So - maybe an auditing body could be set up to verify statistics? Would be useful for the advertising industry to know the best places to be seen. |

| Sites seem to be taking the:- Average successful requests per day: 3,729 and calling that the number of Visitors. |
Even looking at:- Average successful requests for pages per day: 1,092 would not be correct when looking at the number of Visitors. It shows the number of page hits. |
Distinct hosts served: 9,363 (2,810) can no longer be an accurate measure of any sort. Not with the way today - the numbers of people coming in through proxy servers. The only real way to log visitors would be through the use of persistent cookies. |
