It has a lot of content, some of it might not be too relevant but it is still content.

Relevant? To what? *smile* The site is run for fun. Non profit. No motive in mind. It has grown in any which way the mood for the day struck. Thus the wide variety of stuff on it.

When facts are witheld, or hard to find, what more can be done than to delve into reasoning and opinions. Better to try, than to leave unsaid what needs to be said. Yes? No ? *smile*

I find the (dubai alerts) section to be the most interesting part of your site.

Woooooo - thank you. And the most fun to do. And really the only section that is regularly updated. By the way, we always need help for topics to delve into. Such as now what you have given.

Well, each to his own. There are tens of thousands of IRC chatters in Dubai and the UAE. For some its fun, for others its lame. So be it :)

• They are a diferent entity from DIC, they follow there own management. The only got the initial 'push' from DIC to start things up.

• They have approched Etisalat on many occations to discuss 'internet' concepts.

• They are opening clubs around the country for the general public. The purpose of these clubs are not too clear to me at the moment. But I think it will be a kind of 'hands on garage' where people try out new Operating systems (Windows ME - Red Hat - Windows 2000 - SuSe - etc.) Applications ( internet, office or graphical application ), and also try out new hardware that comes out. Anyway you get the picture.

• It is rumoured that the first club will open up in AUD sometime next week and later on open up in many other 'educational institutes (coleges and universities)' around the emirates.

• You have to become a member of the club to gain access to a lot of membership benefits such as a lot of discounts in many hardware and software shops, internet cafe's, and other stuff which i'd rather not mention 'cause im not too sure about.

• They are going to hold a lot of seminars in the region to do with IT related topics.

• They are going to be in GITEX both in the main area and at the shoppers bullshit place.

• They are currently working on a portal and are including A LOT of useful things in. Maybe you should post a notice on your site for them to see what the people of the country really want/expect from a good portal, since they dont have an area like that on their site.
